Marvel Legens: Random Villains #2

Klaw

I hate this figure. I hate this character. With vehemence. Nothing about this character is anywhere enticing. While I am well aware that there are other detestable characters that Marvel has created, I will say that me checking out of the retail store with this guy in my hands and not X-23 Marvel Legends(They have yet to make one. Boo) makes me cringe with anger. This guy came with the Terrax BAF Series.

Constrictor

There is something to say about villains like Constrictor and Omega Red with 'tentacles' as their weapon. Honestly, I dig this guy. Costume isn't the most spectacular thing around, but it makes sense. I would fathom he is trying to be a 'snake' like villain or what not so suffice to say, so constricting would be his forte. This figure has a sinister smile and all(almost devious if you ask me), the articulation rocks, and he did come with a piece of Terrax. One gripe I do have with this figure is that his tentacle lacks the proper articulation for something that is suppose to bind and constrict(boo). But, happy with this guy! Terrax BAF series.

Carnage

There was a time when Spider-Man toybiz came in abundance! Some came good, some came in horrendous display and functions, luckily for me, this Carnage is just plain badass. He looks nefarious but still somewhat 'up to something'. His articulation allows for a lot of 'spider' like pose and he can do whatever a spider can. Sadly, I have yet to explore the full possibility but I would surmise I will. Great paint job as well. From the Amazing Spider-Man toybiz line.

Ultron

I talked about this guy already a bit. Honeslty, the least favorite out of the series but he actually came out not too bad. I thought I would detest him even more considering how hard he was to find and how long it took me to finish the set because of him. Being a Hank Pym creation and having a recently abhorrent saga based off of him(Age of Ultron aka "A.U."), this guy isn't on top of a lot of people's list in regards to badass villain. But at least the figure is cool. Iron Monger BAF series.

 Spiral

Spiral is a unique character and probably the 'shiva' of the Marvel Universe. Having her past linked with Psylocke, I've always had my eyes set on this gal for some time. Her toy adaptation came out decent and unique. Having six arms in a small stature of a figure does make it complicating but this one pulled it off nicely enough. I wish she came with more swords, but no real major complaints. Her helmet was a pain to keep on so I just super glued it on her head. Truth to be told, I love this figure. Articulation has some hinderance because of the three arms on each side, but that's expected with that many limbs. Rulk BAF series.

Danger

This gal has a very convoluted story that I didn't delve into. Basically, her name 'Danger' came from the  idea that she IS the machine that made the X-Men's danger room the way it was. The Danger room itself was an advance technology capable of many feats. Guess there was an artificial intelligence in there that rebelled. Sure. As a figure, pretty good. Too bad her posture is hindered by her wings. Take it off and she is lacking that special 'thing'. From the Brood BAF series.

Marvel Legends BAF: Iron Monger

Iron Monger Series: Iron Patriot(IM3), MK 42, Iron Man Classic, Ultron, Iron Patriot(Dark), Iron Man(Heroic Age)

Oh Yes, Iron Monger! It took me a long time to assemble this nefarious baddie of Tony Stark because of THIS GUY:

For some reason, me least favorite on in the set is the one that gave me the most evasive maneuvers! He was also the head of Iron Monger so with that said, it was almost as if he was indeed smarter! But having this figure, he isn't HALF bad. Let's check out some more pictures of him:

Okay, so enough of that. Time to touch base on the figured built from the coming of the Age of Ultron(I heard that was a terrible comic event)! So this figure is BLUE(da ba dee da ba da). In contrast to his movie adaptation, Iron Monger is blue, and a beautifully painted blue might I add. The only other tint to him is the red in his eyes, his chest, and the black on his 'wirings'. For the most part though you only get his shiny metal blue which again for the shade of the sad color, it's pretty damn cool.

Where he lacks in color assortment though, Obadiah makes up for terms of details within his armor. His sculpting is filled with ridges making his mechanic frame far from mundane. Nothing about this mold steers away from the notion that this 'metal man' is in armor! My favorite parts of this sculpting are the details on his back, the gauntlets, and the 'boots'. Damn great job on this toy for sure!

BAF: Rulk

Height comparison, he is a bit taller than your average 6 inch Marvel Legends. He is almost toe to toe with Red Hulk and obviously nothing as big as the old Toybiz BAFs like Onlsaught or Apocalypse. Hearing from one of the popular toy collectors Shartimus Prime, there was a controversy with Iron Monger's size because of a certain picture(on which I won't really bother on looking for and posting), but honestly as Shartimus Prime absolved, perhaps it was mostly on the Iron Man's posture and not so much deception of Hasbro. More or less it was a misleading picture. Alright moving on!

Much like Onslaught, he is all about the details and not the stature. Again, to be redundant, I am highly in love with the way he is detailed out! But just like everything else, there is going to be the down side of things. Akin to Rulk, he lacks the articulation for better postures. In fact, I found him less articulated to certain action scenes which is a bummer. The only thing I really get form this guy is a lot of "I am strong" kind of deal. I'm sure if I put him with another figure(fighting) he could come up with one or two, but I didn't completely bother with that. One thing I really miss form Toybiz are the articulated fingers! Just those alone will add a myriad of possible sets that can be done with their BAFs. Shame, though I am more than happy that they returned the Marvel Legends(speaking of which, I need to complete Terrax).

So at any rate, I have a lot of love for this figure despite the downside of articulation. It's a good addition to my Iron Men collection as well as my growing rogue of villains. With that said ...

He will be in the Onslaught shelf. 

A Minor Addition

In the gamut of things, it's not entirely a HUGE update, but it is what I would consider prominent in regards to the events that had transpired. I think it's a better fit.

The Red Game Room

Honestly, it's like 'where's waldo' innuendo. But again, anyone avid enough in my game room can spot it right away. Lately however, it's just been me and the 'others' in my fortress of solitude so being able to astutely point it out will be more of a challenge for most.

But just to add a bit more 'flavor' to this post, I do have some in my field of vision for June. Trying to limit my prey, but one can almost always go for the whole Moderation.

Ah yes. One of my favorite Mass Effect characters. I'm not terribly enamored by busts, but this one serves some sort of compliment. That and this:

-Venom Diamond Select:

I have been ambivalent if I should add this bad boy into my collection. While I have always thought he was awesome and touches on a few years of Venom's lore with just one figure, I have a plethora of Symbiotes already festering within my game room. Suffice to say, I'm out of room and I already have a Venom Marvel Select(the ultimates version). But again, this is a must for someone who used to be a very hardcore fanatic of the symbiote adorning dude! And it's probably going to be the first Select that I will open.

- Iron Man 3 Legends Ultron(Wow, that's a long title):

For the sake of completion, he is a must. I'm not entirely too enthused with the character, however, he holds the head of the Iron Monger and right now since I have all four, it looks rather asinine to have a headless Monger in my "Iron Men" shelf. I might find him before June, but the month is closing in so I might just have to complete that wave in the next month.
