Some Words: Well, I will admit that Makoto got the last minute treatment! There was a moment where I didn't think I was going to have a damsel of the month this month but.... that wouldn't be my little bloodspot without this! So why oh why did I pick one of my least favorite Senshi to be in this Xmas list? Well let's just plainly go with aesthetics... she wears Green in her uniform. One of her signature moves has oak(tree) in it, and the fact that she's tall reminds me of the grand things that comes with a Christmas Tree. Okay so all those reasons are a far cry but for some reason, she just popped into my head! Regardless of the fact, she is still a pretty awesome gift under the tree and let's talk about why(most of the Senshis are fantastic gifts... if anything else "stocking stuffer gag" would be a nice little thing).

I swear I can never truly credit these guys. Wish I can, but I just always want to say that their art is amazing. This would be a nice Christmas Tree on the above picture!

Anime-Captor has a fantastic idea for a fic!
So Sailor Jupiter is the 'heavy hitter' of the Sailor Senshis. She is the 'brute' per say, and with thunder and a gigantic tree to back her up, it's no wonder she lives up to the gargantuan planet that she supposedly ruled upon! Sporting the pony tail brunette hair style, green eyes, and the problem with ex boyfriends, Makoto seems to the 'tough-girl', I'll fight any guy to defend mine and my friend's honor type of gal. Unlike Rei, she seems to be the 'hard knocker' when it comes to fists, and surprisingly, she's the cook of the team.

Loz
While she is the more 'masculine' of the Inner Senshis(of course Haruka of the Outer Senshis takes that award out of all the Senshis), Makoto does not lack the proper traits to be one of the more favored Senshi and for good reasons. For me, Makoto doesn't entirely exude the 'tom boy' look as much as her personality tries. She is just a 'strong' woman. In battle, she still wore the traditional short skirt that... well.. you know. Though I think there is some truth to the fact that she is brute strength, therefore she is less brains. While we all know that Mercury takes the cake on that, Makoto is definitely not the sharpest. She is after all a bit too gullible with guys from the episodes that made her prominent.

Speaking of Mercury, Loz made that partnership happen.
So if we are to go off the idea that Jupiter is the strongest in terms of physical strength, that just means she needs to be restrained more, right?

Least she has a crotch rope...

Now THAT is an absolute bondage!!! Even her hands are part of the whole deal!

She definitely has a lot of feistiness in her that makes her adequate for distressing scenes. And she doesn't have that same bouncy exuberance as the likes of 'younger' and 'smaller' framed, hyper girls, she just has that strong "pride" going for her. Though she does share her bonding time with her Senshi friends:

Makoto and Minako. YUM.
Though her solo perils will always be something to admire.

The picture above is one of the first Sailor Jupiter pics I have ever seen in the web. It's.... quite alluring even though the ropes are just insinuated.

In conclusion, Sailor Jupiter may be a last minute pick, but I do have to say that she is still a nice present under the tree. While she may not be my favorite Senshi, she still has EVERY quality  to make her more than adequate to fill a damsel in distress role. Artists all over the web have also done her justice so.... no quarrels here! Belated Merry Christmas everyone!

So... who's to the new year?

S.H. Figuarts: Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon is indeed one of my spoils from 2013's Christmas spoils as I predicted. She has been a long time coming since I have always yearned for a really good and pose able Sailor Moon figure for some time. From my knowledge, none has ever been provided. Bandai was kind enough to jump on that wagon and supply us with their S.H. Figuarts aberration of the Moon Princess with vibrance! So, let's check out the packaging she came from!

Yes, the border of the collage is PINK! If one asks why, then you deserve a Moon healing! Okay, that was corny. So let's just talk about the box before I get more eyes rolling. So with the box design, it's a pretty standard anime/eastern action figure box. Nothing new and all too familiar with how Bandai do their action figure boxes and even Figma does this as well. Again, very recognizable so this part doesn't need TOO much scrutiny. Of course it is Sailor Moon flavored, so that should be a no brainer.

Accessories doesn't fall at all and the details with the said accessories is something to admire! As a norm delivery of imports, there are several alternate faces and hands that adheres to some of Sailor Moon's more prominent signature poses. Her first season weapons are also provided with astounding details which of course adds more dynamic scenes that the owner can conjure up! Either copying it straight from the anime or creating the pose on the whim, the accessories provided will promote for both. If one considers Luna as a figure and not as an accessory, then I suppose there is two in this box. She does have some pose ability so that's always cool. The stand that come with her is pretty familiar with the stands I have bought before. My gripes with Sailor Moon stand is that it holds the same errors that the plain stands have and that is 'fragile'. The Sailor Moon font does help make it more 'unique' however.

Detail is all there in regards to her first season costume. Nothing was missed and it was down to the tee even to the paint job. All the signature detail like the crescent moon on her boots, the bows on her chest and butt, the collar, tiara, earrings, hell even her brooch has the color details like in the anime! Her trademark hair("odangos?") are even properly sculptured that it is the exact markings of the Moon Princess herself. Again the paint that goes with it is great and the vibrant gloss makes her 'celestial' and indeed a 'pretty soldier'. I like the translucent mark on the tip of her hair as well which again, adds to her rather 'magical' presence.

So talking about her weaponry now, Sailor Moon comes with her classic Tiara Star weapon. The way she holds and throws it in the anime can only be reenacted if it is made as an alternate hand(at least down right) like Bandai did here. That one can really copy the iconic Moon Tiara Star Action of the first season(one that she stopped using as often when the seasons started rolling in).

One detail that was attended to(and should not have been forgotten) is that Sailor Moon has an alternate head that has her tiara off; which makes sense since her said accessory did turn into a glowing sphere. That attention to detail does apply to other accessories as well.

If anyone remember the first season, Sailor Moon's Crescent Moon Wand came with and without the Emporium Silver Crystal. Of course doing some soul searching and seeing Tuxedo Kamen in dire pain thanks to the homosexual Zoycite(spelling?), Usagi found out that she was the Moon Princess and the crystal was finally hers. She attached it to her wand and well, her "Healing Escalation" became a bit more 'powerful'. Again the detail is fantastic with that idea! Two separate wands makes it less of a strain when trying to put a miniscule magical crystal in such a small wand so that's much appreciated! Maybe a bit of 'special affects' would've added a bit more glamor into the whole figure as a whole, but I'm not about to complain fervently when I think the way it is is more than adequate.

I was trying to mimic the scene where Endymion was kicking her little behind and she desperately tried to use "Healing Escalation" to turn him back to the goo goo-love-you-to-death-Prince. Though she isn't as battle scarred.

We've already seen a bit of the alternate faces' use. Capturing some of Usagi's moments(both good and bad) are indeed a whole lot easier with these emotion ridden faces. Serious, winking, smiling, battle face, and crying, the only thing I can ask for is a 'focus closed eyes' alternate. Having that would completely copy the first part of the "Healing Escalation" moment. Minor gripe and a redundant complaint, I'm aware!

Combine the variants for her faces with the alternate hands, one can truly recapture some Senshi moments like the picture above. Who can forget Sailor Moon's speech entrance… seriously how can you? She does it EVERY damn episode. If you forgot it, I should punish you(LAAAMMMMEE).

Articulation is standard. Me saying it just like that does not mean it is insipid or lacking. Being the first S.H. Figuarts I own, I must say that Sailor Moon is highly articulated! Able to produce a plethora of dynamic poses as I have grown to expect for all anime/eastern related characters in their action figure adaptations. The tiny detail such as articulation in her hair is even added, which of course is sort of a must nowadays, but still, with it added ALWAYS uplifts my love for the toys I collect.

Okay so maybe Sailor Moon does not do the 'thwip' thing as Spider-Man does, but with this and the 'Sailor Moon kick' displayed, one can truly get an inkling to just how articulated she is and just how much things one can produce with this toy.

In conclusion, I'm very elated to have this toy. Is she a 'wow' factor? Not that much but she does aim to please. The accessories, the variant hands and faces, Luna, and jut the paint and sculpt of this action figure is just enough to say I am glad I have her. I mean, my prior Sailor Moon toy isn't much to be proud of now considering I own an articulated, well painted, Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon. For all of you collectors out there who happens to be Sailor Moon fans, expect an above mediocre toy! Having her in my possession now, I believe the other Senshis are soon rolling in!

Damsel Of The Month:

Name: Sailor Venus/ Minako Aino

Series: Sailor Moon Anime

Some Words: Yes I did. I pulled out some nostalgia as well as some sensuality into the picture. Virgo... Venus? Fitting, right? Well regardless if it is or ISN'T the case, I think it's time to put a Senshi into the light and this blonde bomb shell is fitting in the month for virgo. Be warned however... Minako was a certain age during the series. We're just going to say this is her college years and into her... 'solo' days as a senshi and got herself into some perilous situations! Situations that despite having the proper themes and the adequate plot lines in the series, not once did she get a TRULY noteworthy distress despite the show having aired for such a duration. And yes, she has had some shares of being restrained in the series, we all know that ...

But truly, which one is the better depiction of a real damsel in distress? The Picture above me, or the one above that said picture?

Reptile eye, of course. Check out his deviant art!
Okay so I'll say it to the series' defense that it was for the younger female(insinuated anyways for the female gender, BUT a few 'fan boys' delved into it for whatever reason/s) of the time. A bit on the bondage side would've probably get it shut down, but come on! We have a team of five(in the beginning) who are 'bound' with destiny to do battle with the Negative Force and more than always they seem to encounter minions(or whatever they were called in japanese) who are stronger than them. There were plenty of 'restraining' type minions to do the job, and not to mention there were plenty of times where they could've been restrained before transformation or what not. I don't think the cliche of damsel bait cliche was used enough.

It's not that I was asking for the kind like the picture shown above! Though that would be enticing. Wouldn't have worked for the genre of Sailor Moon though.

Sleepy Comics!
But the pic above is more than viable and 'matured' enough for the show. But alas never did get it.

The pic above would've also worked. Though, the angles could be a bit 'revealing', as odd as that notion sounds when the girls all wear mini skirts. Okay so we did get some minor bondage on the Minako's disdain. A few vine bondage, a bit of magical restraint, some insinuated 'cross' bondage, so forth and so forth so who am I to complain, right? I am an avid D.I.D. lover, thats who I am and that's where my credibility for complaining derives from! I say it wasn't enough!

Yup.
I mean the gal's prominent move is called "Love Me Chain". That insinuates far more bondage libido than some of these bondage pictures I have managed to collect!

The blonde bombshell, 'Goddess of Love', and Sailor V, all one in the same, all just seems perfect for some cliche plot line for bondage in at least ONE of the new Sailor Moon reboot episode! Let's see, Minako thought that she is in for a singing audition, finds out it's a Negative Force trap for certain young women who have the perfect 'energy' with their singing voice(they can even use gag harness apparatus to trap the said energy). She can either be captured as Minako and ... well we can see her in bondage, and/or she is captured as Sailor Venus and is .... well... put in distress. The picture in the left is probably a bit inappropriate, but hey, it's rather sensual and excruciating(I can't cite the artist because I can't find the exact site, even if I do, I can't 'link' it because the art is a bit on the crude side).

Lost One Zero; who else?
And let's not forget that Minako looks rather enticing bound and gagged next to her fellow Senshis! Either we can have all Five Inners in for the bonding time or one ... or two!

Okay so perhaps I over exasperated the innuendo of bondage in the reboot(which I am hoping does come around next year). It will PROBABLY never happen that way but hey, a few more DiD for us would be great. Solo or not!

Waiting for someone to rescue her ....
Sleepy-Comics
Anyways! Virgo. Venus. Goddess of Love(for bondage). That's August's pick. Until the next month!

Venus... Love me... Chain. Wow. Or the english version's Love Chain Encircle. Either or.
