Damsel Of The Month:

Name: Paula "Peril" Perillio

Game/Series: Paula Peril comics by: Atlantic Studios

Some Words:

Atlantic Studios: Paula Peril

In all honesty, Paula Peril's character is a cliche of your common Damsel in Distress profile. She is a snooping reporter who constantly meddles into affairs of crime lords and of course in her need to be nosy, she finds herself in situations where she is either captured and kept as insurance, or left to her struggles by some cliche death peril. To say this might be a bit of a downer in regards to her but I have to claim nothing but honesty here... Paula Peril can be a pretty stale character. Her stories are repetitive in the medium of D.I.D.'ing, and frankly, the writing for her is a bit stagnant and sometimes lacking in any real flavor to enamor someone like me. Honestly, I only really lean on her for the sake of fan service, more or less. But hey, I'm not putting out damsels for the months to come because of how stellar or insipid they are, it's all about their struggles!

Her color schemes seems to fall under my radar the good way. Red and Black, can't ever go wrong with those combination. In regards to her aesthetics, as all comic book females, she has the proper curves, and since we are on the tangent of D.I.D, she looks rather enticing writhing in her bonds.  So to add in some fan service in that notion, Paula also likes to wear sexy but classy attire which of course does absolute wonders for those who want a damsel to reveal as much as she can when she is fervently trying to get out of some death trap. Or maybe it's an act of distracting those who are tying her up, right? Though as much of a snooping meddler she is, I won't be the type to merely leave her to be disemboweled by a train. She is far too alluring to leave as some road kill or ... what not.

Or I wouldn't toss her to an edge of a building left to be mere splattered decor.

When not spending time getting acquainted with the plethora of bondage paraphernalia (duct tape, ropes, scarves, leather straps, handcuffs... etc; DID I need to really list those?), Paula can defend herself. Martial arts seems to be part of her forte that seems to match her detective/snooping skills. Though truth to be told, it doesn't do her enough good to help deter her from certain perilous scenarios. Which for those who are fanatic of bondage and D.I.D.s, that's a very good thing!

And a lot of her art is in black and white; unfortunately. Still good art though.

So there you have it. The lesson of this month's damsel is that walking the road of the 'snoopy reporter' who gets into distressing scenarios (or enticing, for those who have this fetish) isn't going to be the easiest shoes/boots to fill. There are plenty others who came before (Ahem, Lois Lane and April O'Niel... there are some few good candidates for Damsels of the Month). The only reason why the ones who came before didn't get this month is because it's merely taking the perspective of a 'brand new year' and a 'brand new damsel' who deserves the recognition on this small space of the web. That and a special someone helped me pick Ms. Perillio to be the honorary innuendo of this month's appraisal of bondage galore. So with that said....

Don't go anywhere! Next Month's Damsel is going to be occupying the 'love month'.

Til Then!
