NEW MLs: Spider-Woman AND Psylocke

Thank you ShartimusPrime and Marvelousnew.com  for keeping me updated on these awesome new releases! Keep in mind that I am trying to AVOID waves, but if I have to, I will! Right off the get go, I will be pointing out the female figures. The males are also amazing, but yeah, let's get into the females!

Wow! WOW! Yes! Being a fan of Spider-Woman for a long time, I actually softened up to her new duds. I actually think it works and I like it a lot; ALWAYS be a bigger fan of her original, BUT.... yeah. Have to get more than one of these. If she gets special effects, that would be awesome!

Yeah. Psylocke. With her original bikini outfit! Thank you, Hasbro! And she looks hott! They are kicking ass with these female figures!

While I am not happy with the Domino version we are getting in the Deadpool 2 movie(not going to make a post on that), I am happy that the figure is coming! And yes, that's Cable in the background. Domino is a must and I didn't get the Toybiz version way back when(which, I'm not missing much).

YES! YES! Hopefully she gets interchangeable feet with the claws. This is awesome, to say the least. The X-Force with Laura is my favorite X-Force.

There you go, Hasbro! Way to go for an obscure character that I absolutely adore!

As a closing note, I already said that I am not going to be collecting Marvel Legends like I used to. As it is, I skipped out on a couple of waves but there are MUST HAVES. If I can get these single, I will! The wave with Spider-Woman is a must though.

Happy collecting!

POP: Psylocke

One of my favorite Marvel heroines! Sexy, convoluted, and just downright badass. It's only fitting that she will join my army of POPs. So let us move on to the review!

Once upon a time The X-Men were it within the realm of the Marvel Universe. They were the cash cow and the Avengers were barely a shadow compared to the Mutants of 616. Thanks to Jim Lee, we had some of the greatest artwork of X-Men comics and Psylocke's sexiness came to be known with her 'bikini-kunoichi' costume. Go figure.

While this POP version of her does not capture the sexiness that Jim Lee placed on the British turned Asian Psychic Mutant, it does still hold some awesome homage to the character. As I said before, there are characters that challenges POP to wander away from their standard and mold. Having her katana and Psychic Blade definitely solidifies the idea that Betsy needs to have her own posture to accomodate for these 'accessories'. Of course she still has to retain that blocky hair.

Here she is next to her lover, Archangel. A classic look pair up for these two. Again, I won't mind the X-Force variants of these two!

A favorite character of mine has to have a POP version of her in my collection. Growing an army of POPs definitley justifies a sexy psychic ninja in the pack and who better to fit that mold than Betsy Braddock herself?

My Reading Material/Writing Projects

I'm stuck on the Spiderverse hype I know! Hate to say it but Spider-Gwen is growing on me fast, but she won't ever take Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew off of her throne(The first and the best). As it is, I've also acquired Empowered vol. 9 for a lovely read! I may or may not delve into a full on review for some of these! So far, have enjoyed what I've been reading! Even if I don't spend the time to do a review, at the very least they will influence my writing projects in the future! Speaking of which... here's a list of the said writing projects:

-Amalgam Spider-Woman vs Supergirl
-Spider-Woman: Spider-Verse(?)*
-Spider-Woman and Empowered
-Spider-Woman: Agent of SWORD(?)*
->Which will lead into Spider-Gwen: That Ones That We Keep
-Big Hero SIx: The Immortal(maybe, maybe not)*
-Request: Street Fighter Interrogation II
-Request: Black Cat: Tamed

*Not sure what direction these projects will take or if they will actually take off.

Last but not least, here's a 3rd Damsel Poll! Vote! Spider-Gwen, Sailor Neptune, and Red Lantern Supergirl are hanging on to each other with Gwen barely in the lead.

Damsel of the Month:

minkyujungart

Name: Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock

Series: X-Men, X-Force

A manip by ticklemecastro
Some words: One of the hottest female leads of X-Men is none other than Psylocke herself! A convoluted character who is a brit stuck in a kunoichi's body! How bizarre. Regardless of her origin, Betsy does have a history of sexiness and for her to gain the role for April is quite fitting(considering she was just casted for the new X-Men movie coming up!). And regardless if her cinematic universe appearance has been stapled this month or not, I had a feeling that Psylcoke was going to join the ranks in here sooner than later. She has been one of my all time favorite gals a close second to Spider-Woman and believe me, that is saying a lot! A killer face and bod, sexy outfit, and she's a ninja... what else sexy quality does she have that gains her the role in here?

LegendarySid
Believe it or not, as much as I deem her great to be as a damsel, Psylocke has very few treatments in the web and what we do get, are good... but we need more. But no need to spoil the milk, let's just enjoy some of these pics!

GreenLeona
Before she was transferred over to this hott asian body, Betsy had psychic powers, which is probably part of the reason why she gained the name of 'Psylocke'. Obvious when she gained her kunoichi body, she also gained the fighting prowess of Revanche(the former owner of the body), which also enhanced her ability to use her psychic powers with her signature 'psi-knife'. She remained to be one of the most prominent members of the X-Men and have had relationships with more than none member (I believe Wolverine is included along with an alternate version of Sabertooth), but her love with Archangel is probably the most popular one out of all. I've always been a big fan of the couple to be honest!

another one from LegendarySid
Over the years, Psylocke gained some minor costume changes here and there, though she wore her 'famous' bikini ninja outfit for a long time with some very minor changes. She gained the red mark on her left eye after being revived... I forgot the purpose and how she got rid of it to be honest. It wasn't until the X-Force days(quite recently) that she actually gained a costume change. And I'm not talking about her overall color change, I'm talking about a major haul costume change as seen in this picture that I commissioned:

None other than Sharpffffff
It's a nice change to be honest and way better than her other X-Force outfit with Cable. She wore this one in the all female X-Men run, and I believe she still wears this costume. Her powers also seemed to have developed with the coming of this costume as she can now create constructs and not just Psi-knives.

She also donned the traditional X-Men uniform once in a while; this picture is courtesy of Like A Butterfly page dedicated to Psylcoke.

Iorelsan
While her Deadpool video game costume wasn't a big difference, it was still a hit. She was rather sexy in that game. Though Speaking of Deadpool...

Svoidist
Though her blue costume seems to be the hit in the bondage community.

Night-Glare
Link me someone?! I forgot the source of this
Seems to fit underwater peril too it seems.

Reptileye
And flogging.

Mike111

Wing-Saber
And of course just like any other sexy damsel, Psylocke shares the rope time!

Another LegendarySid
And here are some oddball distress scene of her.

Link me please?!
Not much into tentacle bondage, but that one is sexy.

of course, Sleepy-comics
So I suppose it wasn't a bad collection. I intend to add more to Betsy's distress and I'm sure others will contribute, but I don't think it was that bad. I'm adding a fanfic of her as it is so I'm sure her images in her distress department is not over. All in all... it was a great month and Psylocke definitely won this bout(or lost it.... who knows).

Until next month!

Psylocke Casting!

I've been a long time fan of Psylocke but have had little to no love for the X-Men movies as of late. Days of the Future past apparently had some things going for it, but honestly, I haven't cared all that much... UNTIL NOW. Betsy Braddrock has been casted! By who? Olivia Munn:

Funny thing is that she is Chinese and not Japanese, but she does have the orient look that can pull it off. After all, Psylocke wasn't 100% Japanese herself being a brit stuck in a Kunoichi's body.

What really does play a huge factor if this is a good pick or not is how she plays it off. She does after all have the look well enough, but it's the matter of her being to pull it off and act it out. And I wonder if her costume would resemble Betsy's more popular costume:

Or her more recent costume that she is seen using often:

(She has other costumes, but I feel that these two are her more iconic ones; one being more than the other for obvious reasons). Regardless of the choice and how it looks, with Archangel/Angel's concept art being revealed to the public a mere few days ago:

This could be a potential chance that Psylocke will have a pivotal role in the movie. I really think she should since she has been lackluster in the media outside the comic books! She is after all Warren Worthington's love interest off and on so for her to just be mere side plate in this upcoming Apocalypse movie, well, that wouldn't be a good homage to all the fans who just adore her. With that said, this is the first movie I am terribly excited for!

ML Sentinel BAF: Omega Red

Saving the best for last is what one can usually say, and let me just say that Omega Red is a favorite of mine in the bad guy genre! Red, Wolverine rival, cool name, and yes the bondage innuendo that goes along with him, all in all Omega Red is just a win for me! Have always wanted him in 6' version and alas, here he is in full form as a part of the Sentinel BAF. How does he hold up to expectations? Too excited to wait! He is freaking awesome!

I was slightly worried that Omega Red's right shoulder pad is bent due to the case. I was almost positive that it had remained that way for so long that when he comes out of his case he will have a permanent distorted design. Luckily, that isn't so.

I'm not sure if Wolverine being Canadian has anything to do with one of his rival's color scheme to concur with the Canadian colors but, we here we have the dangerous, tentacle whipping, and awesome villain Omega Red in his action figure version. I am very pleased with how this guy came out and he is pretty accurate to his comic book/animated series version.  He's got the red, he's got the Omega sign, he's got the tentacles, and he's got the mean face! Unlike Hasbro, there are a lot of paint details that goes along with this figure and it's really hard not to be impressed with how much effort they used to put way back when! The mold is pretty decent, a little on the skinny with the lower body but it's not a big deal really, it still does justice.

I'm really surprised that he didn't come with a Sentinel Arm instead of the hip because Sentinel comes with his own tentacles that are the exact some ones as Omega Red. Maybe that's on the lazy side, but it's not a major gripe to tally against the toy and the BAF itself. And yes, Omega Red comes with a stand also and an awesome comic book with Jim Lee's art!

Let me just say that he is flawed in some areas of articulation. First off, he has a very small ankle pivot which make some poses inadequate. He is missing the wrist or forearm swivel, his head is a bit impeded with the shoulder pads and his gorgeous locks, and lastly, his ab crunch doesn't work that great. But his tentacles has enough articulation to make up with that because…. how can you have a villain whose weapons are solely based on(aesthetically) to wrap people with their tentacles and have an action figure version of them NOT have articulation with their said tentacles?! Like Constrictor!

I believe inside these tentacles are bendable wires so it gives it the ability to be stable for certain poses or what not. It really gives him an Omega Red ambiance being able to pose with his trademark tentacles pose able like his body! Again, that's another thing that Hasbro misses the boat on these days.

Oh yes! We can't have an Omega Red without a Psylocke and Wolverine bondage, can we?! Well to my defense, during the Jim Lee days, this DID happen… well not exactly like this but something to this affect, more or less. Actually, I wish things happened like this(of course, Less Wolverine and more Psylocke in distress).

At the end of the day, Omega Red is not a perfect Legend, but given to the age of this toy and what it is still capable of, I'd say it's still one of the best out there. I don't think Hasbro has yet to make a toy that would be on par with some of the details that Toybiz paid attention to. Going through this whole set, I say it's just reaffirms just how much Toybiz was ahead in some departments compared to Hasbro. But here I am talking about the two companies when I should be delving into Omega Red… yes this figure is awesome! Honestly, it's all I truly have to say. BAF is great, the figure is great, and he is a pretty interesting villain in the comics to say the least.
