ML MCU Vulture: Captain Universe Spider-Man

And here comes more Marvel Legends Spiderverse in your face! This time... the overwhelming and underwhelming Uni-powered Spider-Man from the ever so popular Spiderverse storyline. Yes, this guy was uber powerful, but only on his own universe... but he got killed in his own universe. ANYWAY!

Just getting into the box, it's pretty obvious to see that he is lacking accessories. He comes with a few, which we are about to talk about, but the one thing that would have made this figure even more amazing is something that I will talk about.

He comes with 3 heads: the "Spider-Man", the "aged Peter Parker", and the original Captain Universe head (Ray Coffin, I believe). We also have the Vulture wings; A BAF I have no interest in getting. So let's take a look at the heads:

First let's talk about the "Spider-Man" head. As a design, it's a bit lazy I think, and that's not the figure's fault. I wish they made his eyes more Spider-Man like rather than just depend the lower half of his mask to be the "Spidey" homage. In fact, I'll talk about the costume design in general.

This is the Peter Parker head as he appears in the Spiderverse event. Bearded, aged, and definitely unique. I like this head piece, even though I won't pose him in my Spiderverse shelf like this.

And this head I have no use for at all even though it's a cool concept that they added this.

So where did I get that special effect? I literally had to go out of my way to get a loose Havoc ML from Ebay just to get this. Normally I wouldn't go out of my way for a figure like this one, but he just seemed incomplete without some kind of accessory that is similar to this. Had to get it! It made the figure that much more fun!

Now let's talk articulation. He is just as standard as most figures I get from Hasbro. He is satisfying as he is mundane. I can't say that he does a whole lot for me, but he doesn't take anything away. I'm glad he can do what he can do because this Spider-Man doesn't do a whole lot of 'doing what a Spider can' kind of deal. He's basically damn near a god! He can fly, bullet proof, can project fire power that can take out Goblins, Venom, Dr. Octopus, and so on like NOTHING! If I was Peter, I would have taken these powers and made them permanent.

In conclusion, this is a pretty good figure. Well, good now that he has those special effects that I had to go out of my way to get. Without it, he would be lackluster, but something I'm used to with a lot of Hasbro's MLs. But that was a thing of the past, right Hasbro? We are going forward with special effects and putting more thoughts to our beloved Marvel characters, right?
