Figma: Yukiko Amagi

So here is another addition to my new Figma Figure craze! Yukiko Amagi is from Persona 4, a fighting game I briefly delved into way back when. Not to get into the break down of the game and my opinion on it, I just have to mention that I bought the game strictly for Yukiko. Makes a lot of sense that I would buy the Figma adaptation of her!

Her box isn't as wide and as 'wow' as the Evangelion ones but again holding true to the color scheme of Persona 4, which seems to be a whole lot of yellow, more or less. It does have the standard side picture of the figure and then the back show casing some of the poses the said figure can get into while the front being the window case box. I swear though, these boxes can be really deceptive on how big the figure could really be.

As I come across my 3rd(third?!) Figma figure, it's pretty standard of them to have the useful bag as well as the hands holder for the variant hand posing and gestures. Both said things do come in REALLY handy when keeping some of these really tiny accessories in one spot. The amount of accessories, face variations, hand variations, etc. do vary with the character. Yukiko comes with 3 faces, some glasses, her trademark fan and a special affect version of it, and then a few set of hands. Then we have the standard figure stands that Figma is kind enough to supply. Unlike the Eva pilots, this one is required to be 'plugged' in a hole on the back of Yukiko rather than it being a clip. I had my reserves with it at first but honestly, it works for Yukiko and it adheres with the adequate stability it has to hold up a small frame figure like Yukiko. I'm starting to see that the transparent and non decorated stands are a norm though with Figma so it's a plus and minus. Mostly a good thing though.

The figure itself is indeed amazing. While Yukiko doesn't have an out of this world attire to make people gasp in amazement, what the figure did do is add the details! I mean her red button up has texture sculpted on it so you can really imagine what kind of material her sweater is made of! The skirt as well holding true to details which again, puts a "plain" outfit into plastic detail! Figma does have a reputation to really pay attention to the tiny details like that so there was no disappointment there!

Of course the trademark fan also adds true to the element of what long time fans of the character/game would expect. Again, I have VERY little knowledge to her and the game mythos, but I do know that for her to have her fan is like Iron Man needing his repulsor blasts. It's a signature! It has to be part of the figure so the owner would be able to duplicate some of her rather sensual pose or some of her action scenes.

To capture her famous signature pose and dynamic actions, articulation has to adhere and a proper stand has to be part of it and again, this is where toy company like Figma doesn't fall short! The stand at first I had a bit of doubt since her hair isn't exactly made out of pliable material that we saw with Mari, but it ended up fine. The other thing I was curious about before I opened the box was her skirt(no, not a pervert thought!). Luckily my worries are resolved since it is made out of bendable material and there is a 'cut' on the side to allow her legs to move higher without hinderance. The action scene on the right with her kicking was done with ease! Articulation, stand, and pliable clothing made it quit possible. I'm sure there are a myriad of other things one can do to make more dynamic things, but I didn't dive into it that much.

Her variant faces were okay. The angry/action and the sweet/smiling faces are the ones I used the most. The embarrassed/blushing variation stayed on the side lines for a bit. Had to force a couple of her pose just to use that face. Again, I'm sure there are options to use with it, but I found myself not very interested. Her three pairs of glasses were mediocre to me. Yukiko did wear glasses, but most pictures I have seen off her is without, but again, I like both looks. Though the one thing odd is…

No real idea what was the point of these goofy glasses. Perhaps she did use it at one game or perhaps in the one I played and I just missed it. I guess more than anything it's for laughs. Won't be using that too much!

All in all, Figma delivers here again. I have no real major complaints to this figure. Again, I was enamored with the character which is what got me to buy Persona 4, and then being into Figma as of late, here I am with this figure. Articulation, hands and faces variations, character driven accessories, detailed and well molded figure… and the list can go on. It's what one would expect from a Figma and I'm glad this one didn't disappoint. Fan of Persona or Yukiko who are also into collecting can get something of this. Honestly, it's one of the cheaper Figmas out there so to me the pros more than outweighs the cons!

My First hand...

This is my first try... I actually like this BUT...

I had an epiphany the other night.... well not an epiphany when someone actually states a certain notion and refuted the doubts that had been lingering in my mind about a certain thing... I have said this once and I will say it again as a certain Humor...

"The Irony of this is as Stark as Tony can create."

Yes; Iron Man innuendo there! Nyuck nyuck!

So as I stated in the caption, the said picture was my first idea... however since the signature had to be a certain size, I can't exactly include everything that I want! The dynamic and posture of these two are sensual, romantic, and far more tantalizing that cutting things off is not to my liking, HOWEVER... there were guidelines I had to abide by in regards to size So... this is the final product...

Again, a lot of got deleted. But as long as the emotion was captured... well...  I guess in the end it's as canon as one would fathom. =)

Another version...
I'm proud of how it came out; Sig making isn't that HARD as I thought... just tedious and requires a bit of a mindset. that and photo bucket was being a bitch at times.

PS, Image is a fantart (I think!) from Persona 4 of the characters Yukiko and Chie.

Currently Playing:

Mass Effect 2: Sill enamored by this game. Going through one play through to capture some good scenes for my 'Firefly' project and also to rekindle some old 'feelings'. Needless to say, this game gets a lot of attention despite it being the 'oldest' game I have on the roster of gaming at the given moment. Next week will the DLC of ME3, so that game will be for sure part of my line up.

Darksiders 2: This game is proving worth my time; I am enjoying it as much as the first one. The challenge it provides sets me back a few notches and it's an asinine idea that this game can be a quick breeze finish, especially when my attention sometimes averts to other games.

Record of Agarest War 2: My JRPG on the line up. While this game is whimsical and at times a bit redundant. Then again, that's what JRPGs offer nowadays. Regardless, I can't disdain that this game's fun factor far exceeds its predecessors. The gameplay had become a bit convoluted at its best, but given the right amount of grinding and the proper funds put into DLCs, it can be a breeze.

Persona 4: Until the coming of DOA5 this week, Persona 4 had become my muse in the genre of fighting games. Suffice to say with how quickly insipid fighting games can become to me, this one barely gets my attention. However it is an interesting game; the story and gameplay has plenty of potential.

Way of the Samurai 4: And merely entering the gaming world just a day old, Way of the Samurai 4. This game is so new that I am incompetent to the gameplay. So far... could be better. However my opinion on it may be premature considering!

So... that's the plethora of games that are at my disposal at the moment. DOA5 will be joining pretty soon, but until then, it is plainly obvious that I will be a bit busy with these said games. Some of them will get a review soon, some will just have to wait. But until then, happy gaming!

Persona 4: Yukiko Amagi

So a new game had come across my crosshair of gaming... Now as you may all know, I am not as fervent when delving into fighting games but this particular game, Persona 4, had become rather enticing. Mostly because of the aesthetics of one character, a gal who has very similar traits to my dear Gemini. So, amidst purchasing and playing this game... I had found it rather very entertaining. Smooth and in terms of gameplay and very well drawn.

The techniques of the character I have chosen at the moment are Street Fighter friendly, transitions are smooth and not rigid, combos may be a bit more illusive on my end since I am a novice at this game, but I can see it being easier to pull off with more repetition and exposure.

Again the aesthetics are very alluring. Whether I am pointing out the character designs, the flawless animation in their movements, the special affects with each connected strike or the vibrant colors when performing 'super moves' or 'Persona skills', suffice to say that the game is far more than just breath taking. The animations of the 'cgs' are also noteworthy, not awe inspiring as Square Enix's of course, but it isn't as insipid as some of the game these days. While those kind of show are not by any means a necessity for a good looking game, it is a bit depressing when a game adds it in and the gameplay graphics are better looking than the said 'cgs'. With that said, Persona 4 doesn't exactly fail at that notion.

As for he girl responsible for me buying the game, well, so far so good. Although she lacks the fiery spirit that her aesthetics seems to project (or in simpler terms, she isn't exactly the bitch as one would think she is, excuse the vulgar language), she isn't exactly a character to be hated in my opinion. I haven't gathered enough of her story to completely say she is an enamoring sort, but then again, she looks grand enough. I'll update when I have more info and story fulfilled about her, but in the mean time, I'm enjoying this game!
