Damsel Of The Month:

Name: (Original) Barbara Gordon; 'Oracle'

Series: Batgirl

Some Words:

Halloween. Pumpkins. Spiders. Ghouls. Vampires. And BATS. Yes. For the one year anniversary of this theme and so forth we have ourselves a DiD community fan favorite: Batgirl! Now there have been more than enough gals to have donned the Batgirl cape and cowl but there is only ONE Barbara Gordon, the 'original' Batgirl! She herself has concocted more than enough damsel in distress scenes to make her the more prominent out of the 'X' amount of bat gals out there! I mean let's face it, as much as that 'one' scene in the Batman animated series lacked some REAL duress and it wasn't all *that* great, it was good enough to really be the center fold of a lot of DiD talk!

It was a good scene to see her fight with her hands bound behind her back though. Neat! That and the perk of having her ONLY distress scene with Catwoman is always a plus. Though she was in dire need of a gag though.

Okay so Loz did conjure up a few 'what ifs' in regards to animated series' distressing scene with the rather compatible 'duo'. Always nice of him.

Barbara's real plight comes from the exuberance that the comic book world was more than wiling to give her during the silver(or bronze...?) age. As sparse as they might have been in contrast to Wonder Woman, they were note worthy enough than her animated endeavors. There are probably a plethora of others I missed and being an avid DiD fan, that is saying something. From chains, to ropes, to tape gag, to OTM gags... I think Batgirl isn't THAT far from Wonder Woman. Okay, she probably is and before her, there are probably other DC femme fatales like Zatanna who probably beats her in that number. But Batgirl is BATGIRL; Barbara Gordon is an icon of DiDs far more than it is expressed. I mean sure, there are almost a handful who have taken her mantle in the comic book world... To name someone I know a bit more is ...

Well, she isn't technically a "Batgirl", but she is in the genre. It's Bat-Woman! I honestly love the color scheme of her outfit! And she did have her own bondage scene in the comic book; not a very good one and not worth putting up.

Then there is Stephanie Brown. You HAVE to have a Blonde Batgirl! For some reason it just has to happen! I don't know very much about this Batgirl(or the Batgirl lore in general), all I know is that she uses a staff and has a bit more of a 'flare' to her Batgirl costume than the others who have taken the mantle of the femme fatale. From my knowledge, she is the youngest one to don the cape and cowl of Batgirl.  I guess the numbers of Batgirl has to somewhat concur with the number of Robins who have come into light in the Batman corps, I suppose. next Batgirl ... (11/2/14 EDIT: new Stephanie Brown Batgirl Commission paid for by yours truly!)

Some of the best Cassandra Cain Batgirl I found was from Kidetic. His deviant art page is pretty easy to find and he is a great artist and very much well enthused with the genre(obviously). Again, I have NO details in regards to this Batgirl. She does look good in bondage though.

Huntress also donned the Batgirl mantle once for a brief moment! From my knowledge, it was BRIEF! I don't think Barbara liked it very much! And yes the same Huntress who have found herself in a couple of very alluring bondage scenes more than once!

And that is what Barbara thinks about her being Batgirl!

Then we have her AmeComi version having been bound and gagged by some lovely DiD art appreciation! So with the myriad of batgals roaming about...

Barbara still wins the cake! I mean after all only she got the real treatment and the main show in the animated series when it was really popular way back when! Unfortunately, there were plenty of opportunities for her to have her treatment in the bondage libido but they never did lean that direction too often! I mean how cool and convincing would it be to have a 'world's finest II' with both Superman and Batman working hand in hand to save their femme fatale versions of themselves from such a discomfort as the image in the corner shows?! Okay so that is a bit too sensual and 'R' rated for the animated series but it's the thought that counts. Good thing the comic book was a bit nicer(but still less daring with such a scene). In the comic book however, her reign as the 'one' was abruptly cut short by none other than...

Yup! None other than the Joker himself through the story arc called 'The Killing Joke'. And no, it didn't happen like the picture above shows. It was indeed heart wrenching but it didn't have a 'stab' towards the DiD community at all! There were some odd years indeed that Barbara didn't have to go through the whole treatment as often as she did when she was walking and kicking. As Oracle, she worked in the backgrounds more often than not so her bondage opportunity was very sparse and almost non existent. But she's back now in the New 52 story arc and we are waiting for a treatment!

I mean, we are not the only one who missed her in such! At any rate, there is very little things to say anymore without making myself sound insipid. I guess what else is left is just leaving this place with artwork and such of the Gal who deserved this trick or treat month! With that said...

Piroro also has a deviantart!
