Words of Others

Transformation

by Ralph Martson

The past cannot be changed. But you can change.
The mistakes, disappointments, and poor choices have occurred, and cannot be undone. Yet they can teach you, motivate you, make you more determined and purposeful.
Today you have the opportunity to transform negative experience into positive power. Today you can take whatever has happened and make it into whatever you want.
The future does not equal the past, and you stand right here in the present, able to create that future. No matter how far you’ve strayed from the path, you can turn right now in the direction of your choice.
Today, positive, purposeful action will push you past the regrets, beyond the frustrations, away from previous mistakes. Look forward, with your goal firmly in mind, and go for it.
All the ups and downs of the past have brought you here. Now, make of it the very best you can imagine.

----------
But what if they can be undone? Would someone be brave enough to change what was so that what is doesn't have to be what it is? What if you can fight to change the past? Would you take arms and do so? Or just accept what was and just bend to the rigorous violence of the storm--the one we call life--would you be a slave to its whims every lifetime? To an extent, I do let those words echo inside of me. After all... we are just pawns of what life has to offer. Who, what, why, how, and when do not fall in our hands. People come, and people go. The only ones who will stay with me forever is ME.

Words of Wisdom

Challenging environment

If your efforts are not bringing results, don’t make yourself into a victim, complaining about how unfair life is. Change your efforts, making them more focused and effective.
If something is not working for you, don’t make a lot of excuses or look for someone to blame. Instead, look for how you can change your strategy.
Yes, conditions have changed and they will continue to change even faster than before. Rather than seeing that as an excuse, see it as an opportunity.
Doing something new is not a sure thing, but if you refuse to change, it is a sure thing that you’ll get yourself stuck in the past.
If whatever has worked in the past no longer works, that can be disturbing and uncomfortable. Can you find a way to see discomfort as your friend, to push on through, and to transform a disappointing change into a positive opportunity?
Life is not fair, and the world does not stand still, waiting for you to catch up. Yet even in such a challenging environment, you have what it takes to experience a rich and fulfilling life.

Words of Wisom

A little more patience

Have a little more patience, and you’ll have a lot less stress. Take a deep, relaxing, refreshing breath, and allow life to unfold as it will.
Don’t take it as a major personal affront if someone else is not as quick or as competent as you would like. Find a way to enjoy the moment rather than poison it.
Instead of being obsessed about what you might be missing, be thankful for what you have. Instead of being so anxious about what’s next, focus on the richness of what’s now.
Let go of the life-wasting need to prove how important you think you are. Put your energy into improving how good and helpful and creative you truly are.
Enjoy the journey, and enjoy the rich, unique qualities of those who journey with you. Expect the absolute best of life, while giving your vision plenty of time to unfold.
Have a little more patience. Give your life and your world, and all the others in it, the time they deserve.
