ML Sandman BAF: Spider-Man 2099

A new ML review post! WOW! Yes, I'm still collecting these as I had mentioned before! I'm mostly doing a lot of collecting on my favorite character/s and/or groups. Obviously, I love the Spiderverse run so here's another one to add to the various Spider-Men/Women/Gals out there! Let's check out the box!

So nothing's change in the area of Marvel Legends boxes. As you can see, he is a running change for a figure I already have as well: Spider-UK.

Now as far as the figure itself, this is a "brand" new costume for Miguel O'Hara. He's had that classic blue and red for a long time now and giving him a new look was a must. Ass a figure, it looks aesthetically pleasing, honestly. This is not the same sculpt as Spider-UK, but it is a new one, or at least a more recent one than the "Bucky-Cap" mold that they all-too-often use!

The coloring on this guy, as a choice for the creator of this new dud, it's pretty sweet. It ventures away from the typical Spider-Man(or Spider-Men, since there are a dozen out just in the main line: Scarlet Spiders, Miles, Peter, etc...). They pulled off the combination of white and metallic red in this figure quite well and for the most part, it's pretty clean throughout the figure.

Of course in the accessory department, Miguel over here sucks and lacks!  A common thing with MLs even to this day so I won't gripe over it for too long.

And while I didn't spend enough time posing him around, I'd say he is pretty good in the articulation department. He can do a lot of the acrobatic poses that one would want out of a Spider-Man figure, but still lacking in his leg movements. But this Spider-Man, or Spider-Man 2099 altogether spends a lot of time flying too so, one can accomplish that.

I'm not going to say that this is an exciting catch. The new costume is a great addition to the Spider-Man galore changes. For anyone looking to build a Spider-Men army, this is a must! I'd say it's a cool addition to the Spiderverse shelf I have. Not great, but good enough!

Future Reviews

So these are the stragglers that didn't make it to THE RED's display. Shame. But that just means I'll have a brand new league to review when I have my next game room all set up and ready. I'm not sure how that is going to look or what I'm going to be doing with it, all I know is that it's not going to be 'customized' for me but I know one day I'll get a game room again.

BUT! Been waiting to review Kiritsugu Emiya for a while now! And that Harley Quinn! And not to mention, I have a whole lot more coming this way soon! So here's to the future reviews!

ML Hobgoblin BAF: Spider-Man 2099

Spider-Man 2099 is probably one of the coolest Spider-Man in my opinion. While I'm not a huge fan of Blue and Red combo, this one has some flare to it that just makes him stand out than the original Spider-Man! It's a shame he came from a universe that didn't really do as well as he did; basically, he is the only good thing that came out of 2099!

Hasbro didn't do anything fancy for the side art of this wave. In fact it's the same one we got from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 wave so nothing to fancy about. Though there is one thing to look at in this box and that is the changing of his last name! Miguel O'Shea?! I guess Hasbro didn't bother looking at wikipedia for the simple phrase of Miguel O'Hara! Shame on them!

I love this figure just by aesthetics. Spider-Man 2099's costume is simple but it has enough flare to it to make him stand out. I especially love the fact that the 'eyes' were sculpted in and not painted on. Shame about the emblem on his chest how it's painted and not well done. Sculpted in would've been nice but I wonder how much that would've hurt Hasbro's price range. The metallic paint is amazing and the additional web cape is something I admire as well. Though I wish he wasn't so tall on the torso; something not only I had qualms about.

Spidey 2099 comes with one accessory and that's his cape and for the BAF part he is accompanied by Hobgoblin's flame sword and right hand. I do have to say that the flame affect on the sword is amazing! It almost looks like import! Still on the fence about finishing this BAF.

Wish Hasbro starts dishing out some web accessories though.

The articulation is fairly standard and happy to have it. Though there are some hinderance, much like all their "Spider" related figures! Splits is almost impossible, which of course deters a lot of Spider-Man's favorite poses. Lots of people talk about the McFarlane Spider-Man of the Toybiz generation being the best Spidey with it being articulated... though it is shamed like a freaking skeleton that I don't think I can like it. Figures like 2099 and Superior are great molds for Spider-Man, but again, lacking the proper articulation.

In conclusion, I think this is one of the better snags from this wave and if I only have him and Anti-Venom, I won't be completely bummed out. Though I'm starting to get really enamored with the idea of "Spider-Verse" that I may just have to grab Spider-Girl and Ultimate Spider-Woman.... Yeah. Nice metallic paint, good touch on sculpting the eyes, an additional cape(some of the things that they should've done with Superior Spider-Man was add his backpack, legs, and web shooters), I think this is a pretty solid figure to be part of the Spider-Man collection.

Hopefully in the future we keep getting amazing figures such as this guy(see what I did there?!).
